You can place your nonrefundable deposit to secure your spot on our waitlist for future piglets.

It’s important that we get a little information about you, your family, your lifestyle so that we can help match you with the piglet that best fits with your life and family.
Requirements for Mini Pig Ownership
-
Zoning Approved
Not every city or town allows mini pigs as pets. It is imperative to check with city government regulations before bringing a pig into your home as a pet. Many cities do not allow pet pigs inside the city limits. Some cities do allow pigs with some restrictions, such as only one pig allowed per household, requirements of particular vaccinations, weight limitations. Contact your local city government offices or look on their websites for animal ordinances keeping in mind that a pet pig will most likely fall under their livestock or swine regulations. This link may allow access to your city ordinances. www.municode.com
If your city is not zoned for a pig as a pet you may attempt to have that ordinance changed or updated. Some of the codes were written many years ago and can be updated. Contact your city council to determine the steps to have the code rewritten or updated prior to adding a pig to your family. Learn more here.
-
Experienced Veterinarian
You will absolutely need a veterinarian that is experienced treating mini pigs. We have wonderful veterinarians that see our piglets for health checks and spay and neuter before they leave us. It is important to get established with a veterinarian early in your mini pig’s life. You will want that comfort of knowing you have your vet relationship in case of emergency and for any vaccinations, injuries, advice you may need. You can search for a mini pig vet here.
-
Own Your Home
We understand that not every family is a homeowner. That is a journey in itself. Unfortunately, most rentals will not allow pigs as pets. If they do, that is not a guarantee that they will not change their policy which could put your mini pig at risk of needing to be rehomed. We recommend waiting for home ownership before adding a mini pig to your family. If you own your home and you are part of a HOA-Homeowner’s Association, there is the same level of risk.
-
Fenced Yard
Mini pigs are wonderful indoor pets. They do require a good amount of outdoor time. This is a great option for house training, but it’s also a necessary form of enrichment. Pigs love to graze, root, lay in the sunshine, forage. Happy pigs have access to the outdoors. They need safe, secure fence in place to allow that time, but also to protect them from neighborhood/stray dogs or other predators. Mini pigs that are not allowed time outdoors are more likely to cause destruction indoors.
-
Sense of Humor & Patience
Your mini pig is guaranteed to make you laugh. It may not always be because they are so sweet and cute. Sometimes they are troublemakers. Just like toddlers! You will need a good sense of humor and a lot of patience to be a mini pig owner.
-
Lifetime Commitment
The lifespan of a mini pig is 15-20 years or more. Healthy diet, proper vet care, maintaining healthy weight will all extend that. Pigs are highly emotional, and they do not do well with change. This will be a lifetime commitment for them, and it should be the same for you and your family. Mini pigs suffer great loss and depression when they lose their families. It can be extremely challenging to find new homes.
Because of this we are committed to making sure that our piglets are place in families that are ready to make that dedicated decision. We do understand that life can change. Things may happen beyond your control. Because of this we will help you find new placement, or we will agree to take our pig back if they should need to find a new safe place to land.

Research
You can never research or prepare enough. After 15 years of mini pig ownership, I am still learning new things. That is one of the reasons I do love mini pigs so much. I am dedicated to sharing everything I have learned. You can always reach out if you face new challenges or have questions. We are here to support you. Sacrafice
Adding a mini pig as a pet can be the greatest gift you can give yourself. It can also come with some sacrifice. Things like taking a vacation will now be more challenging. Finding a pig sitter is not always easy. If you have other pets, you can never feed them together. You may need to relocate your trash can. You will have to supervise your dog and pig 24/7. You will need to train your mini pig. This list can go on and on, BUT the love of a pig is worth every compromise if you are prepared for the good AND the bad.
